Our Story

At VeliK Coffee, a vibrant family-run business nestled in Harpenden, our journey is fuelled by a profound passion for exceptional coffee. Comprising two dedicated adults and three enthusiastic young helpers, our love for premium coffee evolved into a deep fascination with the intricate processes of green coffee development and the art of coffee bean roasting.​

Several years ago, our passion for coffee led us to transform our utility room into a dedicated coffee roastery. Eager to explore diverse roasting profiles, we quickly realised that crafting speciality coffee requires more than just passion—it demands a deep understanding of high-quality Arabica coffee beans. Recognising the significance of factors such as altitude, origin, cupping quality, and processing methods, we immersed ourselves in sourcing the finest green coffee beans. This journey led us to establish long-term partnerships with trusted suppliers, relationships that continue to underpin our commitment to exceptional coffee today.

With a reliable source of premium green beans, we delved into experimenting with various roasting profiles, embracing the complexity of the process. Equipped with a professional drum coffee roaster, we learned that each batch requires a unique recipe to unlock its optimal aroma and flavour. Our goal has always been to offer a smooth and balanced flavour transition in every sip, accentuating the distinctive characteristics inherent to each batch. Through dedication and meticulous experimentation, we’ve developed a robust process for crafting and consistently reproducing perfect roasting recipes.​

Our commitment to excellence has culminated in products that stand shoulder to shoulder with the UK’s top Arabica coffee roasters. Each of our recipes reflects our unique perspective on the ideal coffee roast, offering a distinctive identity and touch. This evolution from an enthusiastic hobby to a professional craftsperson’s pursuit led us to establish VeliK Coffee. Our mission is to share our vision of the perfect coffee experience with discerning drinkers.​
